Ascension Data Breach Compromised Social Security Numbers and Insurance Information

On March 2 2023, the company became aware it had experienced a security incident with Vertex, a vendor that manages one of the company’s websites. On June 6, 2023, Ascension uploaded a new post with the title Texas Security Incident. This detailed how Vertex, the manager of multiple Ascension websites, had experienced its own security breach. This gave an unauthorized party access to the network, which included the data of many customers. However, the breach only impacted the websites that Vertex runs. These are:
