Khalid Hasan, managing attorney of Kasan Law, represents individuals, families, businesses, professionals, and corporations on a full range of transactional and civil litigation matters, including personal injury, motor vehicle accidents, wrongful death, medical malpractice, professional negligence claims, civil litigation, real estate transactions, business and corporate transactions, landlord and tenant disputes, contract disputes, and commercial litigation.
Khalid graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He earned his Juris Doctorate and a certificate in Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution* from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law. As a law student, Mr. Hasan completed an externship for the Honorable Judge Michael R. Panter (Ret.) in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Law Division. Khalid is licensed to practice law in Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois.
Before starting Kasan Law, Khalid practiced in the areas of personal injury, civil rights, police brutality, and civil litigation. As a trial lawyer, he represented clients in various complex cases. He gained diverse legal and litigation experience in both Illinois state and federal court. Khalid has successfully recovered millions of dollars for his clients. In 2019, Khalid successfully handled an appeal before the Appellate Court of Illinois, Third District. In addition, Khalid successfully secured a $2.5 million jury verdict for a client that was sexually abused by her kindergarten teacher.
Khalid has lectured and written multiple publications about the use of social media evidence in the courtroom and its impact on litigation. In 2018, Khalid was named to the National Trial Lawyers “Top 40 Attorneys under 40” list. In 2019 and 2020, Khalid was recognized as a Rising Star by Illinois Super Lawyers, an honor bestowed upon less than 2.5% of all Illinois attorneys under the age of 40.
Outside the courtroom, Khalid volunteers as a trial coach for the Niles West High School Mock Trial Team and is an active member on the Junior Executive Board for the Chicago Lighthouse, an organization serving the blind and visually impaired.
