Paul Strauss is an experienced employment and employment discrimination lawyer with wide experience in individual and class action cases involving employment discrimination and wag and hour violations. His work involves cases in retail, financial, and agricultural settings, among others. A 1981 graduate of Yale Law School, he was an associate and partner at Miner, Barnhill & Galland for 25 years handling mainly employment discrimination and other civil rights cases. After Miner, Barnhill he worked three years at ACORN Housing as its General Counsel and six years at the Chicago Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights as head of its Employment Opportunity Project. He has handled a number of cases in which recovery has been in the millions of dollars. In addition to his employment practice he has handled personal injury, medical malpractice, and First Amendment cases. Paul Strauss is the author of works on using statistics in employment discrimination cases, successful sexual harassment cases, and using an expert on implicit bias in individual race discrimination cases. He is a prior President of the Chicago Council of Lawyers and was a Finalist for the Trial Lawyer of the Year award from the American Trial Lawyers Association Foundation.
