Biography

Justin is the managing partner of the firm’s New Mexico offices located in Albuquerque and Santa Fe. He earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University. After college, Justin worked as a project manager for a large homebuilding company in both New York and Michigan. During this time, Justin developed a desire to work in the legal field. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Temple University School of Law, where he served as an editor of the Temple Law Review. He also earned an M.B.A. from Temple University’s Fox School of Business. Following law school, Justin served as Law Clerk to the Hon. Herbert J. Hutton of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is licensed to practice law in New Mexico and New York.

Justin began his law practice with Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP in New York City, one of the leading law firms in the United States. In 2007, Justin and his family decided to relocate to New Mexico. Since that time, Justin has developed significant experience litigating a wide variety of complex cases including wrongful death, catastrophic injury, product liability, pharmaceutical, consumer fraud, and whistleblower matters. Justin has tried numerous cases to verdict throughout New Mexico and has recovered millions of dollars for individuals and families injured or killed by pharmaceutical products, industrial equipment, and the negligence of others.

From 2010 through 2012, Justin helped lead a team of dozens of attorneys in a nationwide mass tort case involving injuries and deaths caused by the drug Avandia. This involved taking and defending hundreds of depositions of corporate witnesses, experts, and plaintiffs, and preparing a number of “bellwether” cases for trial in both state and federal courts. The effort ultimately led to the settlement of more than 25,000 personal injury claims pending before the Multi-District Litigation court in Philadelphia, as well as in state courts in California, New Mexico, Missouri, and Pennsylvania. In addition, Justin was part of the team who represented eight state Attorneys General in Avandia-related litigation pending in state courts, ultimately resolving these matters for more than $200 million in recovery for the states.

In 2013, Justin and the Robins Cloud team helped to secure the largest jury verdict in New Mexico history at the time, a wrongful death case arising out of a trucking accident in which the jury awarded the family $58.5 million in damages.

Justin serves on the Board of Directors of the New Mexico Trial Lawyers Association, he is a National Advisory Board Member of the Association of Plaintiff Interstate Trucking Lawyers of America (APITLA), he is a past president of the First Judicial District Bar Association, and his accomplishments have earned him a place in the National Trial Lawyers’ Top 40 Under 40 and is listed as a “Rising Star” Super Lawyer in New Mexico. Justin is admitted to practice before all courts in New Mexico and New York, as well as the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico, the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
