Biography

Scott is a senior counsel/litigation attorney at Kavinoky Cook LLP. Scott primarily handles labor & employment matters for private-sector businesses, public-sector employers and individuals.

Scott's practice focuses on issues relating to employment law/litigation, employee benefits, wage and hour matters, and labor relations issues. Scott advises clients and litigates issues with regard to all facets of the employer-employee relationship, including employment discrimination, wage payment requirements under Federal and State law, as well as employee benefits issues under ERISA, COBRA and HIPAA.

Scott also assists clients with matters under the Family & Medical Leave Act, disability discrimination issues under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the New York State Human Rights Law, as well as representing both public and private sector employers with regard to traditional labor relations and arbitration matters. Scott also represents clients concerning employment agreements, restrictive covenants, preparation/revision of employee handbooks, and other labor and employment-related matters.

Scott also represents clients regarding various business litigation matters, including contractual claims, defamation matters, and related business disputes.

Scott is admitted to practice in the Courts of the State of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, all four Federal District Courts in New York, and the Federal District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

Scott is a cum laude graduate of New York Law School, and a frequent lecturer on employment law matters. Mr. DeLuca is a member of the Board of Directors for the Historic Palace Theatre in Lockport, NY, and is a graduate of Leadership Buffalo (Class Experience- Class of 2014), and Leadership Niagara (Class of 2016).
